The Village of Oakwood Police Department Detective Bureau is comprised of two dedicated detectives. The Detective Bureau is responsible for the investigation of crimes such as sexual assault cases, missing persons, narcotics investigations, identity theft and credit card fraud.
The Bureau then presents cases for criminal prosecution to the Bedford Municipal Court or to the Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court. Our detectives are committed to timely and responsive follow up of crimes reported to the department, as well as proactive investigation and enforcement within our community.
The Bureau also provides fingerprinting for residents who need to be fingerprinted for employment or background purposes, an appointment is necessary.
Please be advised that we do not offer digital/electronic fingerprinting services, only “inked” fingerprints on the card supplied by the requester. Detectives are available weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. for questions.
